Pura becomes Official Wipes and Nappies Partner of The Multibank UK
Pura, the award-winning sustainable baby care brand, is proud to announce it has become the official wipes and nappies partner of The Multibank UK - a pioneering initiative founded by former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to support families in crisis and reduce waste.
As part of the partnership, Pura is supplying and donating high quality, sustainable, and toxin-free wipes and nappies through a not-for-profit arrangement. These essential products will be distributed via The Multibank’s growing network of regional donation hubs across the UK, helping families facing poverty and financial hardship.
14.3 million people face abject and never-ending poverty and 4.3 million of these are children. The Multibank was set up in Fife, Scotland in 2021 to help combat this. A Multibank is a clothes, bedding, baby, hygiene and toys bank all rolled into one. The idea is simple: companies have the surplus goods people need and local charities know the people who need them. The Multibank initiative connects the two to reduce the effects of poverty and enable children to access opportunities while contributing to a sustainable economy.
“We’re proud to support The Multibank’s mission,” said Guy Fennell, Founder & CEO of Pura. “Unfortunately, many families are struggling to afford the basics such as wipes and nappies in the UK. The work the Multibank is doing is crucial. It’s not just about providing essentials; it’s about reducing waste and making a real difference in people’s lives. We are delighted to be The Multibank UK’s official nappy and wipes partner.”
There are now six Multibanks across the UK working with over 100 businesses to help people experiencing poverty to rebuild their lives, maintain their dignity and find hope.
Said The Multibank President Gordon Brown:
“As our official Multibank nappies and wipes partner, Pura is enabling the best of toxin-free, sustainably made, wipes and nappies to be accessible to more parents, who don’t lack in love for their babies - just the money needed to afford even the most basic of essentials.“Partnering with Pura means we can continue to achieve our goal to support families in crisis without compromising the quality of their care or our ambition to care for the planet and promote a sustainable, circular economy."

Nappy Recycling
Pura has been championing nappy recycling since 2021. Via its Pura NappiCycle partnership, it recycles over 60 million nappies annually in Wales. In Swansea, where The Multibank UK’s donations are led via Faith in Families, parents can pick up free Pura nappies and drop off used nappies and hygiene waste for recycling at three Community Cwtch locations. These recycled nappies are transformed into valuable materials that can be repurposed in creating items such as benches and in road resurfacing, helping reduce the estimated 3 billion disposable nappies discarded each year in the UK.
“Thanks to the wonderful support offered by Faith in Families Swansea, the local community can now arrive at Three Community Cwtches with dirty nappies for recycling… and leave with free Pura nappies! This community effort could reduce a lot of nappy waste, paving the way for a better future for babies and the planet,” added Guy Fennell
